Behind the photo

It has been said that behind every photo, there lies a story.

Avesbury, England. 1996. 

A beautiful, sunny day, if memory serves.
The sun was setting, shining its last few rays of light all around.
Two shadowy figures stare out into the fields of gold.

Amazed at the beauty, two young women try to speak...
But they can barely manage a word...
Because every last bit of them feels frozen to the core!

December 1996, which this Canadian and her sister spent freezing in the UK ;)

Ring Of Kerry, Ireland. 1992.

"Hey Brandy! Look! There are cows on the beach!!!"

"Caroline, you are seeing things... You need sleep, nourishment. All these miles we've cycled have played havoc on your well-being...."

"Um..."

Brakes screeching... Gasping...

"Holy Caroline! There are cows on the beach!!!"

We chose not to cool our feet in the creek these beauties had been drinking out of... and we never did figure out which of the camper vans was the cows' ;)

Pedal on, pedal on, pedal on... 

L'viv / Lwów, Ukraine. 1996. 

Lovely row of buildings overlooking the large square where one finds the gorgeous Opera House. 

These tones of yellow and orange definitely brightened up a dreary, cold November morning and taking photos of them momentarily got me away from our insane tour guide. 

Better yet was the person in the top left window of the middle building, who waved continuously for a few minutes, then blew me kiss after kiss :)
